About this guide

TromsoWhaleSafari.com is an independent guide to whale watching from Tromsø, Norway. We are not a boat operator, Visit Tromsø or GetYourGuide, and the site name describes the activity we write about rather than a business. For the city's official tourist information, see Visit Tromsø.

Facts here are checked against the operators' own listings (including recent guest reviews), Visit Tromsø, the Norwegian whale safari regulation and published research on the herring and the whales. Times, seasons and inclusions change; when a listing and this page disagree, the listing at checkout wins.

The site is funded by affiliate commissions: when you book through a link here, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That never changes what we recommend, including telling you when a nine-hour boat day means an hour with the whales. Details on the affiliate disclosure page.
